Founded in 1935 at the International Convention of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in San Antonio, Texas, DPF began with 75 dedicated individuals, and is now one of the largest independent but integrally related organizations within the denomination. It is also the oldest existing Peace Fellowship of any denomination in the United States.

Our Vision

Living out the Gospel imperative for peace and justice.

Our Mission

We live out our vision by embracing three verbs that push us into action: equipping, connecting, and advocating.

We equip individuals and congregations to pursue peace and justice work through education, support, and collaboration.

We connect people and organizations who share in the work of fighting injustice and oppression throughout our world.

We advocate for positive change in our world and walk alongside those who are working for peace and whose voices have been ignored for too long.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God
— Matthew 5:9
