Applying to be a Peace Intern

Spend the Summer as an Ambassador for Peace & Justice!

Being a Peace Intern is an incredible opportunity to travel the country sharing the things that mean the most to you and truly pouring your heart out in service to others. I saw the youth open up in difficult conversations, I saw them engage in soul care for themselves and others, and I saw them passionately discuss what peace and justice looks like in our world. A fire from my youth was reignited in me when I listened to the power and wisdom that is held in the young voices at camps all across the country.

Generally speaking three young adults are selected as DPF Peace Interns each year. In a typical summer Peace Interns travel across the United States and Canada as advocates for peace and justice, primarily at Disciples of Christ Church Camps. Over the last several summers have built a Hybrid Model where Peace Interns work with in-person church camps and have weeklong remote work assignments with peace partners, denominational justice ministries, and interfaith peacemaking organizations. We are looking forward to working with future cohorts of DPF Peace Interns to craft a summer experience that will allow them to live out the Gospel imperative for Peace and Justice in a way that suits them, serves the church, and makes a difference in the world!
